SAEDNEWS: This small villa was built in 1974 next to the Environmental Protection Office in West Azerbaijan on Kaboudan Island. Ashraf Pahlavi stayed here twice—once in 1974 and again in 1975—each time accompanied by Behrouz Vossoughi, for stays of four to five days.
According to Saed News’ political service, Lake Urmia, which until recently was called the “Turquoise Jewel of Iran,” had long attracted special attention due to its natural beauty and pristine islands located in its center. During the Pahlavi era, Ashraf Pahlavi also built a small villa on the eastern shore of Kaboodan Island in the lake, allowing her to spend time there alongside the numerous royal palaces and villas.
This small villa was constructed in 1974 next to the ranger station of the West Azerbaijan Department of Environment on Kaboodan Island. Ashraf Pahlavi stayed there twice—once in 1974 and once in 1975—with Behrouz Vossoughi, each visit lasting 4 to 5 days. All of the villa’s furniture and fixtures are foreign-made, especially Italian and French, and have remained untouched. They are currently under the custody of the West Azerbaijan Department of Environment.

It is said that Behrouz Vossoughi had ties with the Pahlavi family, and this villa was allegedly the site of his affair with Ashraf Pahlavi.
