SAEDNEWS: U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that Israel has agreed to the terms of a proposed 60-day truce in Gaza, pressing Hamas to accept the deal and end weeks of escalating bloodshed.
According to Saed News, President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that Israel has accepted “the necessary conditions to finalise” a 60-day ceasefire agreement in Gaza. In remarks made during a press briefing, Trump urged Hamas to accept the terms and avert further civilian casualties in what has become one of the deadliest conflicts in the region’s recent history.
The announcement comes amid a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. On Monday alone, Israeli strikes killed 109 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, including 28 who were reportedly shot while waiting in line for food aid at distribution centers run by the U.S.- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
Conditions have deteriorated sharply at Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital, the largest medical center in the north of the strip. Officials there warn that hundreds of patients are “facing death” due to fuel shortages that have crippled critical services such as dialysis, ventilators, and emergency surgery.
Since the start of the war, Gaza’s Health Ministry reports over 56,600 deaths and more than 134,000 injuries. On the Israeli side, 1,139 people were killed during the October 7 attacks, and over 200 individuals remain in captivity.
While details of the proposed ceasefire remain confidential, Trump's statement signals renewed American engagement in crisis diplomacy. Yet with no immediate response from Hamas, the fate of the truce—and the lives it could save—hangs in the balance.
