SAEDNEWS: Iran’s foreign minister tells CBS that Washington must end its military menaces before negotiations resume—though Tehran insists its “doors of diplomacy” always remain open.

Iran Demands U.S. Military Threats Cease Before Restarting Nuclear Talks

According to Saed News, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has set a firm precondition for the resumption of nuclear negotiations with the United States: an unequivocal end to American military threats. In a televised interview with CBS on July 1, Araghchi warned that Tehran “must first ensure that Washington will not again exploit the talks for military aggression.” He was careful to add that “the doors of diplomacy will never be closed,” underscoring Iran’s continued readiness for dialogue.

Araghchi went on to describe uranium enrichment as “an advanced, science‑based industry” whose knowledge and infrastructure “cannot be destroyed by bombing.” He noted that even if Iran’s facilities were damaged, they could be swiftly repaired—a capability that transforms the program into a source of “national pride and dignity.”

Reflecting on the recent conflict, the foreign minister recalled “12 days of imposed war,” during which Iran demonstrated both “strength and will to defend ourselves.” On June 13, he said, Israel launched “blatant and unprovoked aggression,” assassinating senior military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. Less than a week later, the United States bombed three civilian‑nuclear sites in Iran—actions Araghchi condemned as grave violations of the UN Charter, international law, and the Nuclear Non‑Proliferation Treaty.

In retaliation, Iranian forces struck strategic sites across the occupied territories and the al‑Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest U.S. facility in West Asia. By June 24, he asserted, Iran’s “successful retaliatory operations” had effectively halted the illegal aggression, leaving Tehran poised to re‑enter talks—provided that military threats truly cease.
