Saed News: During his visit to the foundational and infrastructural activities of the Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters, Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Tehran, as the capital of the country, is grappling with numerous problems, and there is no solution other than relocating the center of governance.
According to the political affairs section of Saed News, Masoud Pezeshkian announced in September of last year, during a visit to the foundational and infrastructural activities of the Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters, that Tehran, as the capital of the country, is grappling with various problems, and there is no solution other than relocating the center of governance.
Pezeshkian stated: “If we want to be the top in the region, we cannot fall behind our competitors. The development of the country is not possible with the current course of action. Continuing to transport raw materials from the south and the sea to the center for processing and then sending them back south for export has severely eroded and diminished our competitiveness. We have no choice but to relocate the country’s economic and political center to the south and closer to the sea.”
The President emphasized: “Tehran, as the capital, is facing serious problems for which there is no solution other than moving the center. Issues such as water shortage, land subsidence, and air pollution have only worsened under the current policies and actions implemented so far. The fundamental solution is to relocate the political and economic center of the country. However, this relocation cannot be done by us sitting in Tehran and telling the people to move—we must go first so the people will follow.”
