Saed News: On Saturday evening, the newspaper *Israel Hayom* quoted a U.S. official as saying, “The U.S. government is considering the possibility of suspending some of the sanctions imposed on Iran.

According to Saed News, the Hebrew-language newspaper Israel Hayom reported on Saturday, citing a U.S. official: "In the Rome negotiations, we did not retreat from our demand that Iran completely halt uranium enrichment."

The U.S. official said: "We proposed a preliminary agreement in which Iran emphasizes its readiness to renounce efforts to obtain nuclear weapons."

The paper also quoted the American official as saying: “The U.S. government is considering the possibility of suspending some of the sanctions imposed on Iran.”

The fifth round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States was held yesterday in Rome, Italy.

As in the previous four rounds, the Omani Foreign Minister played the role of mediator and intermediary in the indirect negotiations between Iran and the U.S.

This was the second time that indirect negotiations between Iran and the U.S. were held in Italy; the second round of talks had also taken place in Rome.
