Saed News: Majid Takht-Ravanchi, the Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs of our country, who was in Serbia to attend the third round of political consultation meetings, delivered a speech at the Belgrade Institute of International Politics and Economics. The event was attended by a group of ambassadors, diplomats, and scholars.
According to Saed News’ political service, quoting Hamshahri Online, Dr. Majid Takht-Ravanchi, in this meeting, referred to the government’s approach regarding the nuclear issue and stated: The Islamic Republic of Iran, as in the past and in line with its policy of engagement, is ready to hold talks regarding its peaceful nuclear program and has, over the past few months, engaged in discussions with China, Russia, and the three European countries.
Referring to the indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States on the nuclear issue in Muscat, he said: If the American side refrains from raising unrelated issues and demands, and abandons threats and intimidation, there is a good opportunity to reach an agreement. The Islamic Republic of Iran believes in dialogue and engagement based on mutual respect, and any form of bullying and coercion is unacceptable to us.
In another part of his speech, Dr. Takht-Ravanchi emphasized our country’s principled policy of establishing the best possible relations with neighboring countries, stressing that dialogue and engagement are the most important strategies for resolving regional issues.
