According to Saed News’ political service and reports by Khabar Online, Ettelaat newspaper wrote: “One of the former officials (Javad Zarif) expressed his views criticizing another country. Why should current officials, from official and legislative platforms, speak against a former official in defense of a foreign government? On the anniversary of capitulation, we recall a time when even Iranian citizens and high-ranking religious authorities were prohibited—and even exiled—for commenting on foreign officials. Today, they face insults and are threatened with imprisonment on the parliament floor.”
