SAEDNEWS: Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commemorated the anniversary of the Hezbollah secretary generals' martyrdom, saying that Iran has always been a strong and staunch supporter of the powerful Lebanon.
On the occasion of the first martyrdom anniversary of former Secretary General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah Resistance Movement, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of regional cooperation: “All countries in the region are expected, while supporting stability and territorial integrity, to assist Lebanon in maintaining stability and strengthening national authority.”
October 28 marks the anniversary of a tragic and unprecedented terrorist act in Beirut, where the Zionist regime targeted and assassinated key resistance figures, including Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, using advanced American weapons in residential areas. This act was not only a gross violation of international law and the United Nations Charter but also a stark example of terrorism aimed at undermining the sovereignty of an independent UN member state.
Iran reaffirms its enduring support for a strong and independent Lebanon. Throughout three decades of leadership, Martyr Nasrallah played a pivotal role in enhancing Lebanon’s authority, establishing deterrence, and protecting the nation from foreign aggression. Alongside him, other notable figures, such as Martyr General Abbas Nilforoshan, devoted their lives to defending the homeland and supporting the Palestinian cause against oppression and aggression.
By commemorating Martyr Nasrallah, Martyr Seyyed Hashem Safieddin, and other heroes of the Lebanese Resistance, Iran underscores the enduring need for accountability and international action against acts of terrorism. Their legacy remains a testament to courage, resilience, and the pursuit of justice, offering visitors and observers a profound insight into Lebanon’s struggle for sovereignty and regional stability.
