According to Saed News quoting ISNA, The press unit of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baku has rejected claims made on the news website Akhbar regarding the Iranian ambassador to Armenia.

the embassy’s press unit responded to the allegations on Akhbar, stating that accusations about Iran’s ambassador in Yerevan supporting Nagorno-Karabakh separatists or providing military aid to Armenia are entirely baseless and false.

The statement also reminded readers of Iran’s principled stance in supporting a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, noting that the claims on the news site were speculative and imaginative.

Akhbar, an Azerbaijani news outlet, had published an article about Mehdi Sobhani, Iran’s ambassador to Armenia, claiming that during the conclusion of his mission in Yerevan, he supported the separatist regime in Nagorno-Karabakh and encouraged separatism against Azerbaijan. The Iranian embassy’s response emphasized that these allegations are unfounded and inconsistent with Iran’s official policy of neutrality and support for peaceful dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
