SAEDNEWS: Iranian politician Mostafa Hashemi-Taba warned that hardliners are plotting to weaken President Pezeshkian, push for a government with minimal public participation, and sacrifice national interests for their own goals.
According to Saed News, Mostafa Hashemi-Taba wrote an article for Arman Melli newspaper.
According to Arman Melli, the following are excerpts from this article:
“Hardliners want to bring down Pezeshkian and establish a government with minimal public participation. They also have other dangerous plans that I will not mention.
I believe at the very least, the issue is that hardliners feel emboldened. Since they were defeated in the elections, and despite Mr. Pezeshkian mistakenly showing goodwill towards them by bringing some of their affiliates into the government under the banner of ‘unity’—though these individuals are not aligned with the government’s policies—they now believe that if they continue their efforts to remove Mr. Pezeshkian, another election will be held.
In such a case, with minimal voter turnout, they could use their 2 to 3 percent base to install their trusted candidate as president. In other words, they believe Iran can be sacrificed for their aims and ideology.”
