According to Saed News, The President of Iran, in a conversation with his Russian counterpart, stated: “I hope the agreements reached in Alaska will, in practice, lead to a swift resolution of the Ukraine issue. Based on its ideological principles and defensive doctrine, Iran has never pursued, is not pursuing, and will never pursue the development of nuclear weapons.”

He added: “During my trip to Armenia, the Prime Minister of this country assured me that in the recent dialogues and agreements with the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United States, the considerations of the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as Russia were fully taken into account. With this in mind, I believe that the 3+3 dialogue framework, with the participation of Iran and Russia, will serve as a more effective and efficient mechanism for resolving issues in the Caucasus region.”

Putin also stated: “The possession of the right by the Islamic Republic of Iran to enrich uranium is, from Russia’s perspective, fundamental and decisive. I hope that the negotiations over Resolution 2231 will also reach a desirable conclusion.”

He continued: “In the Alaska negotiations, we reached very good results. If they are fully implemented, the Ukraine issue will be resolved. Our talks in this meeting were entirely focused on the Ukraine matter.”
