From Clerics to Executives: Infiltrators Can Hide Anywhere, Analyst Says

Mansour Haqiqatpour, a political activist, spoke with Khabar Online about the ongoing challenges of internal infiltration in Iran.

According to Haqiqatpour, in the early days of the revolution, the authorities succeeded in delivering serious blows to many anti-revolutionary groups and dismantling them. However, infiltrating organizations remained largely intact. He explained that the Mujahedin-e Khalq organization lost only three or four infiltrators, while the rest remained unharmed. Similarly, the Tudeh Party and leftist groups suffered no significant damage, as no specialized efforts were made to counter their influence.

Haqiqatpour emphasized the country’s need for focused security and intelligence measures to eliminate these movements at their roots. He clarified that “security” does not mean creating a society filled with fear or restrictions for citizens. Rather, the goal is to ensure that people feel fully safe, confident that infiltrators cannot secretly undermine the system.

He stressed that firm action against security-related troublemakers is necessary to maintain sustainable security in citizens’ daily lives. He also warned that infiltrators may appear in any guise — from clerics with turbans or beards to professionals in suits and ties.
