SAEDNEWS: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned against using scientific achievements as tools of oppression in Gaza and Palestine, emphasizing that global progress comes through openness and collective cooperation.
According to Saed News citing Mehr News Agency, President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that some bullies, relying on certain achievements derived from knowledge, are oppressing innocent and defenseless people in Gaza and Palestine, and that collective efforts are needed to prevent these crimes from continuing.
On Monday, August 18th, during his ongoing visit to Armenia, Pezeshkian met with Iranians residing in the country. He remarked that the more we build walls around ourselves, the more we fall behind in civilization and progress. He noted that although the event of Prophet Muhammad's mission (Ba‘th) is significant, it is not the starting point of Islamic history; rather, the Hijrah is considered the historical beginning.
The president added that throughout history, people who have progressed were those who tore down their barriers and sought new achievements while exchanging their capabilities with others. History shows that civilizations unable to interact effectively with others remained backward.
Pezeshkian emphasized that it is the heart and mind, not just the eyes, that analyze and understand what is seen. Real vision is not about having healthy eyes; if the eyes see well but the heart and mind are dark, meaningful understanding will not occur.
He explained that isolating ourselves and claiming superiority does not foster growth. Rather, interaction, exchange of experiences, and sharing achievements with others drives mutual progress. Relationships should first develop with neighbors, then with all countries, to achieve real advancement through collaboration.
The president highlighted that today’s scientific achievements are the result of accumulated knowledge and the exchange of experiences across nations and civilizations. The flourishing of science is not the result of a single country’s efforts, but of cooperation among diverse peoples.
Referring to Iran’s long-standing historical ties with neighboring peoples, Pezeshkian stressed the importance of renewing and enhancing friendly relations to benefit everyone. He remarked that in the limited time we have on this small planet, instead of anger, plunder, and killing, we should bring joy and prosperity to one another.
He concluded that respecting one’s rights while refraining from violating others’ rights, based on fairness and justice, is key to worldly happiness. Interaction and communication make the world more beautiful and joyful, which is why Iran engages in visits to neighbors and other countries to expand friendly relations.
Finally, the president reiterated that conflicts and wars should not erupt in the shared space of our world. He condemned those who misuse scientific achievements as tools of dominance to oppress innocent people in Gaza and Palestine, calling it an ultimate act of injustice and shame. Collective efforts are required to prevent the continuation of these crimes.
