Paris Threatens to Reinstate Arms and Banking Sanctions if Iran Violates Commitments

A senior French Foreign Ministry official stated that Iran cannot under any circumstances obtain nuclear weapons. He warned that if Iran continues to violate its international commitments, France and its German and British partners will reinstate global sanctions on weapons, nuclear equipment, and banking restrictions that had been lifted ten years ago at the end of August.

According to Saed News citing Entekhab news agency, Jean-Noël Barrot emphasized: “We have proposed a temporary and conditional suspension of these sanctions to allow negotiations to proceed. To date, this proposal has gone unanswered by Iran.”
