The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) representative in Iran Farrukh Toirov has expressed readiness to explore areas of collaboration, including designing training courses and specialized capacity-building programs with Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute.

Speaking on the sidelines of his visit to the Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute, Toirov stressed providing a list of key educational and research topics from the Razi Institute as an effective step in planning and expanding collaborations.

The Razi Institute has a unique capacity in producing vaccines and biological products, he added.

The level of knowledge and technological capability of the Razi Institute in vaccine production is unique in the world and is seen in only a few countries, he noted.

Razi is one of the few institutes in the world that, in addition to producing veterinary vaccines, is also active in human vaccines, Toirov stated.

The Razi Institute’s background, possession of domestic technical knowledge, and vaccine production experience have created unparalleled advantages in the region and the world, he said.

Meanwhile, Head of Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute Ali Eshaqi pointed to the institute’s extensive capabilities in producing various vaccines, biological products, and reference laboratories, and called for developing international cooperation to enhance health and food security.

The Razi Institute primarily focuses on producing biological products, a significant portion of which pertains to veterinary medicine.

The Razi Institute has 15 national and international reference laboratories for disease diagnosis, he said adding that these capacities provide an excellent opportunity for international collaboration.
