SAEDNEWS: 66 children have died of malnutrition due to the blockade of aid, with thousands more at risk as the Israeli blockade continues.
According to Saednews, The blockade of the Gaza Strip’s crossings and the obstruction of humanitarian aid have led to severe famine, resulting in the deaths of children, according to Gaza’s government media office.
The office announced on Saturday that at least 66 children have died from malnutrition so far.
It urged the international community to take immediate action and pressure the Israeli regime to reopen the crossings.
Munir Al-Bursh, Director-General of Gaza’s Health Ministry, warned that thousands of children are suffering from acute malnutrition, and without an end to the aid blockade, more will perish of hunger.
He emphasized that reopening the crossings is the only way to save these children, adding that the occupying regime is treating the killing of Gaza’s children as a form of cruel amusement.
Al-Bursh further warned that unless attacks on civilians awaiting aid cease, the crisis will escalate into an even greater disaster.
Israel launched its war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, following the unprecedented Al-Aqsa Storm Operation by Hamas earlier that day. A ceasefire came into force on January 19 this year. The regime, however, resumed its air and ground attacks on Gaza on March 18 in breach of the truce.
According to the Health Ministry in Gaza, 56,412 people have been confirmed dead and 133,054 wounded since the start of the war.
