Saednews: The representative of the people of Zanjan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly stated that focusing our country's attacks on Israel — as America's greatest asset in the region — would be a response to Trump's crime. He added: "These attacks must be devastating, regret-inducing, and unpredictable."
According to Saednews, Mostafa Taheri, speaking during his address at the open session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly on the morning of Monday, June 22, stated that the U.S. military attack on Iranian soil should not be seen merely as a military operation. He said: "This act is a psychological and wide-ranging operation aimed at pressuring the Iranian people and weakening national will."
He added: “The enemy is trying—using media and cyber tools—to impose its agenda on the country by suggesting that Iran’s response is weak. The U.S. knows that attacking Fordow won't significantly affect Iran's military capability. It only seeks to relieve pressure on Israel.”
The Zanjan MP stressed: “In response to the American crime, the Islamic Republic’s attacks should primarily target America's biggest asset in the region—Israel. The entirety of Israel, especially Tel Aviv, should be subjected to heavy, successive, and regret-inducing strikes, forcing it to surrender.”
Taheri went on to say that Iran’s response to the U.S. attack must meet three criteria: “It should break the U.S.’s prestige and authority, be devastating and regret-inducing, and be unpredictable to the enemy.”
He also noted that IAEA Conference Resolution 533 considers any attack or threat against safeguarded nuclear facilities a violation of the UN Charter. He added: “Given the conduct of the IAEA Director General, Iran must seriously pursue a complaint against the traitorous Grossi. The agency’s demands should be ignored entirely. Cooperation with the IAEA should be suspended and, ultimately, Iran should withdraw from the NPT under Article 10.”
As a member of the Parliament’s Industry and Mining Commission, he said: “Today, we possess indigenous human resources, nuclear knowledge, enriched uranium, a nuclear industry, and centrifuge production capabilities. We will continue this path stronger than before.”
Taheri also reviewed the outcomes of 40 years of formal and informal negotiations, stating: “We negotiated and were deceived. We negotiated and were threatened. We negotiated and were infiltrated. We negotiated and were sanctioned. And now, after negotiating, we’ve been militarily attacked.”
He added: “From the perspective of savage America, war and negotiation are two sides of the same coin. A strong Iran is the only way to secure its safety and deter aggression. Israel’s strategic mistake was attacking Iran directly, which set the stage for its own destruction. America’s greater mistake was falling into Israel’s trap, accelerating its own decline and collapse.”
The MP continued: “Today, the victors in wars are those with greater resilience and the ability to end conflicts. The people of Islamic Iran are the main pillar in resisting the criminal Zionism and the Great Satan. Through their faith, resistance, patience, and vigilance, they have prevented the enemies of God from achieving their sinister goals.”
Taheri concluded by saying: “We thank Almighty God for the leadership of the Islamic Republic, which—with a wise combination of deterrence, decisive military response, active diplomacy, and popular mobilization—has not only protected Iran from enemy aggression, but has also galvanized global public opinion against the crimes of Israel and the United States.”
