Russian Senator: A U.S. Attack on Iran Wwould Escalate Global Tensions!

According to Saednews, Andrei Klimov said in an interview with TASS on Sunday that a U.S. attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities would increase global tensions.

He noted: “It would take a great deal of effort for the world to return to a calmer state.”

In response to a question about the possibility of Iran attacking U.S. military bases and aircraft carriers, the Russian senator said: “Iranian politicians are highly experienced and calculate all their moves. Personally, I do not believe Tehran will carry out such an attack.”

According to Saednews, in the early hours of Sunday (June 22), the United States joined Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s war against Iran by launching strikes on three nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

Following this action, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi issued a statement emphasizing that, based on the UN Charter and its provisions that allow legitimate self-defense, Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interests, and people.

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran also released a statement declaring that the country's nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan were attacked in a savage act that violated international law—particularly the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)—and stressed: “We will not allow the development of this national industry to be halted.”

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also announced the beginning of the twentieth wave of combined missile and drone attacks on military targets and industrial centers tied to the defense industry in the cities of Haifa and Tel Aviv.
