CNN: Diplomatic Breather; Geneva Nuclear Talks Revived

According to Saed News, quoting IRNA, the U.S. president’s decision to postpone making a decision about a military attack on Iran has been met with a positive response from European diplomats. They believe that this two-week window could help revive the dialogue process with Tehran and provide a peaceful solution to the crisis.

Ahead of the nuclear negotiations in Geneva between senior Iranian and European officials, a Western European diplomat told CNN that proposals would be presented at the meeting to explore the possibility of a compromise with Iran.

According to the diplomat, the main focus of the discussions remains the sensitive issue of uranium enrichment — a long-standing point of contention between Iran and the West.

The report adds that Iran insists its enrichment program is solely for peaceful purposes, but the production of highly enriched uranium has raised concerns within the international community. The Trump administration is demanding a complete halt to all enrichment activities by Iran, while the Islamic Republic has repeatedly emphasized that it will not retreat from this technology.

Following Israeli airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities and based on a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran’s enrichment levels have now exceeded the standards of countries without nuclear weapons programs. This development has further intensified concerns over the nature of Iran’s nuclear program.

Until Trump’s recent statements, the Geneva talks were largely overshadowed by the looming threat of military action from the U.S. and Israel. But now, with the participation of representatives from Iran, the European Union, and the three European countries — the UK, France, and Germany — this meeting is set to play a key role in shaping the future of Iran–West relations.

Nevertheless, serious doubts remain about the effectiveness of the negotiations. Some European analysts warn that Trump’s delay may be a tactical move to prepare U.S. military forces and increase political pressure. One diplomat commented: “Given Trump’s daily contradictory statements, predicting his true intentions is not easy.”

Last Friday, the Zionist regime, in a blatant violation of international law and Iran’s national sovereignty, launched military attacks targeting Tehran and several other cities, including the country’s nuclear facilities. In this terrorist attack, a number of military commanders, scientists, and civilians were martyred.

Following this crime, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic stated in a televised address Friday night: “The armed forces will bring ruin upon the vile Zionist regime and, God willing, with decisive action, will make life bitter for them — there will be no appeasement.”

In response to this aggression, the Islamic Republic of Iran launched “Operation Truthful Promise 3” Friday night, firing dozens of missiles toward the occupied territories.
