Pakistan's Federal Minister Visits Iran to Boost Agricultural Cooperation Between Two Neighbors

Pakistan's Federal Minister of Agriculture and National Food Security, Rana Tanveer Hussain has traveled to Tehran to hold talks with Iranian officials on strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

Tanveer Hussain, who arrived on Sunday at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart, Gholamreza Nouri Ghezeljeh, is scheduled to participate in the meeting of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Committee on agricultural cooperation.

Officials from the two countries will review initiatives to strengthen trade relations and seek new avenues, with a prime focus on mutual capabilities in the field of agriculture.

The two countries will also examine in detail solutions for improving seeds, increasing agricultural production, advancing technology exchange and investment.

Tanveer Hussain has stated that his country’s technical and research cooperation with Iran would help ensure food security of the two neighbors, emphasizing that agricultural research and farmers' welfare is Pakistan’s top priority.
