SAEDNEWS: Trump-Zelensky Meeting at the White House Marked by Tensions, Signals U.S. Pullback on Supplying Kyiv with Tomahawk Missiles, Observers Say
According to the Politics Service of Saed News, a tense 2.5-hour meeting between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ended abruptly after Trump told him that the United States would “for now” not supply long-range Tomahawk missiles.
Sources described the conversation as “difficult” and “emotional,” with Trump insisting that the war should end by stabilizing current front lines. Zelensky made strong efforts to obtain Tomahawk missiles but faced firm resistance.
After the meeting, Zelensky contacted European leaders, who later issued coordinated statements supporting Ukraine—clearly indicating that the meeting with Trump had not been successful.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer suggested cooperation with Washington to develop a peace plan similar to Trump’s proposal regarding Gaza, while NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte called for an immediate meeting among European security advisors.
