SAEDNEWS: A senior Japanese official responded to the U.S. President’s claim comparing America’s aggressive attacks on Iran to the atomic bombing of Japan during World War II.
According to Saednews, Yoshimasa Hayashi, Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary, on Thursday implicitly urged the U.S. President to remain silent about historical events and stated that the evaluation of such events should be done by experts.
During a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in The Hague, U.S. President Donald Trump made a strange claim that America’s aggressive attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities were like the country’s atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in World War II, which ended the war.
According to TASS news agency, Hayashi, responding to reporters' questions on the matter, said: “We are aware of these statements. We believe that how specific historical events are evaluated should be done by experts.”
He also said that the atomic bombing of Japan led to the “end” of World War II.
Hayashi emphasized that Japanese officials have a fixed position regarding these attacks and believe that the atomic bombing caused the deaths of a large number of people, diseases, severe human suffering, and dire humanitarian conditions.
The senior Japanese official said the international community must actively work toward a world free of nuclear weapons and do everything possible to prevent the tragedy of Hiroshima and Nagasaki from happening again.
