SAEDNEWS: An Indian man requesting a divorce for an unusual reason has captured widespread media attention across the country.
According to SAEDNEWS: quoting from the Young Journalists Club, an Indian man's strange reason for wanting a divorce from his wife has become a media subject in the country. This man, from the Aligarh region of Uttar Pradesh, India, decided to divorce his wife because she refuses to take a bath every day. This issue became public when the man's wife filed a complaint against him at the Aligarh Women's Protection Office to save her marriage.
The office offers counseling sessions for couples as a tool to save their marriage and relationship. A counselor working at the Aligarh Women's Protection Office said: "A woman filed a written complaint saying that her husband threatened her with a triple talaq (divorce) because she refused to take a daily bath. We are providing counseling to the couple and their parents to try to save their marriage."
The counselor added: "The husband repeatedly and firmly told us in counseling sessions that he wants to end his life with this woman. He also asked us to help him separate from his wife, because according to him, she does not take a bath every day."
According to the counselor, they are trying to prevent the collapse of the marriage, as they believe this issue is minor and solvable.
