SAEDNEWS: Every year, at the end of autumn, thousands of people visit the 860-year-old Jingo tree.
According to the Society section of Saed News, quoting Young Journalists Club, the “Ginkgo Bangiryi Wanzhou” tree, South Korea’s national tree, is famous for its 17-meter diameter and 32-meter height. Although this tree is still not the tallest Asian ginkgo, its 860-year-old branches spread widely, making it one of the most beautiful trees on Earth.
Interestingly, the tree’s popularity peaked during the COVID-19 pandemic in South Korea. Most families visited this tourist attraction by car, and to avoid close contact with strangers, they usually remained inside their vehicles.
Before COVID-19, the village where this tree is located was very quiet. However, after the pandemic, the number of visitors tripled and is now four times higher. On average, about 4,000 people visit the tree daily. Despite the absence of nearby restaurants or shops, people come in groups to see this magnificent tree, located 1.5 kilometers from the city.
