SAEDNEWS: This Month’s Top Homes Include a Simple House in Vietnam’s Forests and a Barn-Like Building in Rural Kent
According to the Science Service of SaedNews, the architecture website Dezeen releases a monthly list of the world’s most popular homes. Here, we explore the five standout homes of November 2024: a personal residence designed by an architect in Melbourne, a London dwelling crowned with a copper helmet—these are among the most beloved houses featured in Dezeen’s top homes list this month. The monthly roundup also includes a simple retreat in the forests of Vietnam and a barn-inspired building in rural Kent.
TropiBox, India
Located in Kochi, Kerala, TropiBox won this month’s hearts with its curved walls made from layers of smooth cement plaster. According to the architect, the design aims to evoke a sense of “futurism” while honoring the region’s traditional stone architecture.

Northcote House, Australia
Designed by the founders of LLDS Architecture, Northcote House was named Urban House of the Year at the 2024 Dezeen Awards. Its standout feature is an irregular roof crafted from three-layered timber.

Wimbledon House, UK
This London home is distinguished by a dark, weathered copper helmet. Designed by Jason Good Architecture to replace a 1980s cottage, the circular helmet surrounds a skylight and organizes the interior to maximize natural light and ventilation.

Anchor House, Vietnam
Hidden among the trees of the Mekong Delta, Anchor House was commissioned by a reclusive artist. The architects describe it as “a simple place to live.” Its interior is minimal, with exposed concrete surfaces drawing attention to the lush greenery outside.

Weald House, UK
Set in Kent, Weald House takes cues from traditional local barns, reflecting the architects’ inspiration from the region’s vernacular structures.
