SAEDNEWS: The Iranian president has described Iran-Qatar political relations as privileged, emphasizing the need to enhance the level of relations between the two countries in all fields.
According to SAEDNEWS, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has underscored the privileged political relations between Iran and Qatar, calling for enhanced cooperation across all sectors.
During a meeting in Tehran with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the visiting Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pezeshkian expressed the necessity of elevating the level of partnership between the two nations.
The Iranian president reiterated the importance of Islamic unity in response to the ongoing violence perpetrated by the Israeli regime against the people of Gaza and other Palestinian territories. He criticized the silence and complicity of Israel's allies regarding these actions, stating, "In Gaza, human rights and all international laws and rules are violated time and again."
In acknowledgment of Pezeshkian’s recent election victory and his cabinet formation, Al Thani conveyed the Emir of Qatar's strong commitment to expanding fraternal and strategic relations with Iran. He underscored that while progress has been made, the existing cooperation does not yet reflect the aspirations of the leaders of both countries, urging further efforts to achieve this goal.
Al Thani also expressed concern over the inconsistent stances of the international community and self-proclaimed human rights defenders towards the situation in Gaza. He reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to working towards a ceasefire and emphasized the importance of Iran's constructive role in this process, describing Iran as a wise and responsible actor.
Appreciating Pezeshkian's proactive stance on regional and international issues, Al Thani declared Qatar's readiness to collaborate with Iran to advance shared goals at both bilateral and broader regional and international levels.
