According to Saed News Society Service, citing Tasnim, a Filipino fisherman realized after a decade that what he had found was a 34-kilogram pearl valued at $100 million.
The Guardian reports that ten years ago, this poor man, caught in a storm near the shores of Palawan Island in the Philippines, was forced to drop his boat’s anchor into the water—but soon noticed it had snagged on something hard.
He dove into the water to free the anchor and encountered the world’s largest pearl.
Unaware of the object's true value, the lucky fisherman hid it under his bed in his humble wooden hut as a “good luck charm.”
After a decade, when his hut caught fire, he retrieved this stunning pearl, astonishing everyone.
The 34-kilogram pearl measures approximately 67 centimeters in length and over 30 centimeters in width, making it the largest pearl in the world.
This pearl is five times larger than the previously known largest pearl. Before this discovery, the largest pearl in the world was called “Allah,” weighing around 6.4 kilograms and valued at about $35 million.
