SAEDNEWS: Iranian Ambassador to Georgia Mahmoud Adib has said that his country's policy in the Caucasus region is to maintain peace and ensure respect the territorial integrity of the other states.

Iran’s Policy in the Caucasus Focuses on Maintaining Peace and Stability

Iranian Ambassador to Georgia Mahmoud Adib met with Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili at the conclusion of his diplomatic mission in the country.

During the meeting, Papuashvili praised Adib’s efforts in advancing bilateral relations, stating, “We recognize your valuable contributions in strengthening ties. We are pleased that during recent tensions in the South Caucasus, you, as the Iranian ambassador, managed relations effectively.”

He emphasized that Georgia’s policy focuses on peace and stability in the region and added, “We hope that by establishing security, the foundation for cooperation with Iran will be stronger than ever. The peoples of both countries share a rich civilization and cultural heritage, which provides great potential to reinforce human values. Unlike some nations, Iranians have demonstrated the maturity needed to navigate crises.”

Ambassador Adib expressed appreciation for Papuashvili’s perspective and described Iran’s policy in the Caucasus as one centered on maintaining peace and respecting territorial integrity. He highlighted the role of parliaments in consolidating mutual interests and cited the abolition of visas as a symbol of goodwill between the two nations.

Adib also stressed the importance of developing parliamentary diplomacy and the exchange of friendship delegations. Referring to Georgia’s immigration laws, he called for safeguarding the honor and dignity of Iranians living in the country.
