SAEDNEWS: The Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says that the Israeli regime would receive a stronger response from Iran over the assassination of former Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

Iran Promises Stronger Retaliation Against Israel Following Assassination of Hamas Leader

According to SAEDNEWS, Brigadier General Ali Fadavi condemned the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, declaring, "The fake and child-killing Zionist regime continued its stupidity and martyred Haniyeh on the soil of Islamic Iran, and we will respond at the appropriate time and place." His remarks highlight the escalating tensions in the region and the Iranian commitment to avenge what they consider a grave injustice.

Fadavi emphasized that the timing and manner of this retribution would be carefully determined, asserting, "We will determine the time and manner of punishment," and assuring that avenging Martyr Haniyeh's blood would indeed be fulfilled. He warned that the "usurping Zionist regime committed a great crime by assassinating Martyr Haniyeh," and predicted that their punishment would be "more severe than before."

According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were targeted in Tehran on July 31. The IRGC described the assassination as a direct act orchestrated by the Zionist regime, with backing from the "criminal government of America." The implications of this accusation underline the fraught and complex relationships at play, as Iran identifies this act as part of a broader pattern of aggression.

High-ranking Iranian officials have since vowed to retaliate decisively. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei remarked that by assassinating Haniyeh, the Israeli regime had paved the way for "harsh punishment for itself." Also weighing in, political adviser Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to assert that preparations are underway to deliver severe consequences to a regime that "only understands the language of force."

Shamkhani further commented on the motivations behind these relentless acts of violence, stating, "The sole goal of the Israeli regime in killing the worshipers of the Al-Tabin school in Gaza and assassinating the martyr Ismail Haniyeh in Iran is to seek war and make the ceasefire negotiations fail." He confirmed that preparations for a strong response have already been initiated, implicating a multifaceted approach involving legal, diplomatic, and media strategies.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how these declarations will manifest in actions, and what implications they may hold for the already tense atmosphere in the region.
