SAEDNEWS: Making panna cotta is very simple, and this elegant and fancy dessert can be prepared quickly in the kitchen. The term "panna cotta" in Italian means "cooked cream," and this dessert falls into the pudding category.
Panna cotta is one of the incredibly easy and delicious Italian desserts. All you need to do is combine the right amounts of its ingredients to achieve a great taste and texture. Here, we present the recipe for vanilla panna cotta, which can be paired with various sauces to make a fantastic dessert.
Milk: 3 cups
Sugar: 6 tablespoons
Gelatin: 3 tablespoons
Cream: 200 grams
Water: Half a cup
Vanilla: Half a teaspoon
In a pot, mix the milk and sugar. Place the pot on low heat until it warms up. Be careful not to boil the milk, as it will ruin the dessert.
Dilute the cream with a little milk and whisk with a fork until smooth.
When the sugar is completely dissolved in the milk, add the cream and stir. Keep the heat very low to prevent the milk from boiling.
When all the ingredients are well combined, add the vanilla and stir. Remove the pot from the heat.
Dissolve the gelatin using the double boiler method (indirect heat) with half a cup of water over a kettle's steam. You can use milk instead of water if desired.
After the gelatin has dissolved, add it to the mixture and stir well to fully combine. Then pour the mixture into the desired mold to set the vanilla panna cotta.
Place the mold in the refrigerator for about 4 hours to let the dessert set.
After this time, remove the panna cotta from the mold and place it on a serving dish. Panna cotta separates easily from the mold because of the cream.
Decorate the vanilla panna cotta with any food or fruit you like. You can serve this dessert individually if desired. Vanilla panna cotta with strawberry jelly is also a good option for an elegant dessert.
Remember to take the milk and cream out of the fridge before using them to bring them to room temperature.
If the milk boils in step 3, remove it from the stove to cool, then put it back on the stove.
For decoration, you can use fresh fruits like strawberries, cherries, or raspberries. Various nuts, fruit sauces, chocolate or caramel sauces, or flavored dominos are also suitable for decoration.
If the milk and cream layers of your panna cotta separate after a few hours in the fridge, it is likely that the gelatin did not dissolve well in the milk. Also, the temperature of the milk and cream should not be too hot when poured into the mold.
