Coconut Fudge (Luz Nargil) Recipe

Ingredients for Coconut Fudge:

  • Coconut powder: 120g

  • Powdered sugar: 50g

  • White chocolate: 150g

  • Condensed milk: 150g

  • Cardamom powder: 1 tsp

  • Pistachio powder (for garnish): As needed


Instructions:

1. Melting the White Chocolate (Bain-Marie Method)

Place the white chocolate in a bowl and set it over a pot of steaming water (double boiler method) until fully melted.

2. Mixing the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted white chocolate, condensed milk, cardamom powder, coconut powder, and powdered sugar. Mix well until you form a dough that is neither too soft nor too firm.

3. Molding the Dough

Line a rectangular mold (approximately 20x15 cm) with plastic wrap, ensuring it extends beyond the edges. Transfer the dough into the mold and press it evenly with your hands. Use a small rolling pin to flatten it smoothly.

Tip: The thickness of the fudge depends on your mold. A 20x15 cm mold will yield the perfect thickness.

4. Garnishing the Fudge

Sprinkle 1-2 handfuls of pistachio powder over the surface and roll a rolling pin gently over it to help the pistachios adhere to the fudge.

5. Chilling the Fudge

Place the tray in the freezer for 15 minutes to firm up.

6. Cutting the Fudge

Remove the tray from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for 5 minutes. Then, use a sharp knife to cut it into diagonal shapes, creating the classic diamond-shaped Luz Nargil pieces.

7. Storing the Coconut Fudge

Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
