SAEDNEWS: Moscow says that the upcoming BRICS meeting is a favorable opportunity to sign a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Tehran.
According to SAEDNEWS, The upcoming BRICS meeting is seen as a promising chance for Iran and Russia to finalize a comprehensive cooperation agreement, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
This significant event, which will bring together leaders from the BRICS nations, is expected to pave the way for a formal agreement between Tehran and Moscow. The ministry noted that the signing depends on each country's internal preparations, but there are currently no political obstacles preventing the agreement.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to visit Russia in October for the BRICS summit in Kazan, where he plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali confirmed that preparations for Pezeshkian’s visit are underway to ensure a successful outcome for their bilateral relations.
In addition to the crucial meeting with Putin, Pezeshkian will also engage with other leaders and address participants at the summit.
Notably, Russia has taken on the BRICS presidency as of January 1, 2024, and will oversee more than 200 events throughout the year. The BRICS summit in Kazan is anticipated to be the highlight of Russia's presidency. Iran officially joined BRICS on the same date, further solidifying its relationship with this influential group.
