SAEDNEWS: An Austrian woman accidentally brought 18 scorpions home in her suitcase.
According to the multimedia service of Saed News, citing Young Journalists Club, an Austrian woman inadvertently brought several insects from Croatia into her home during a recent trip. Meanwhile, environmental activists are working to return the insects to their natural habitat.
UPI reports that an animal rescue service in Austria stated in a press release that a woman returned to her home in Natternbach after traveling to Croatia. While unpacking her suitcase, she discovered a mother scorpion and 17 of her young hidden inside. Rescuers said they plan to return the scorpions to their natural environment in Croatia.
The reports noted: “The transported insects have been secured and handed over to specialized rescuers. They are currently at the Linz animal shelter, preparing for their journey back to continue their lives in Croatia.”
