SAEDNEWS: Armed militants from the terrorist group Jaish al-Zolm stormed a courthouse in Zahedan, southeast Iran, killing five and wounding thirteen in a coordinated assault on Saturday.
Several armed assailants attacked the Sistan and Balouchestan provincial courthouse located on Azadi Street in Zahedan early Saturday. The attackers opened fire inside the building.
Initial casualty figures indicate five people were killed and thirteen others injured, according to unofficial reports.
The terrorist group Jaish al-Zolm claimed responsibility for the assault.
According to local sources, the gunmen also fired indiscriminately at civilians in the area, wounding people and damaging properties.
IRGC Quds Base personnel killed three attackers during an operation to confront the terrorists, restoring security and control to the location.
Medical teams from Emergency Unit 115 and Khatam al-Anbiya Hospital treated the wounded.
Dr. Mohammad Hassan Mohammadi, head of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, said emergency services transported the injured for immediate treatment. Specialist teams are also conducting diagnostic and surgical procedures.
Some visitors and staff were evacuated with the assistance of law enforcement, as security and police presence remained high around the courthouse.
Official figures on the number of casualties will be announced later, as authorities continue their investigation into the attack.
In the meantime, officials have urged citizens to avoid the area entirely, refrain from filming or sharing unverified information, and rely solely on credible sources for updates.
