SAEDNEWS: Masoud Pezeshkian, in his video speech at the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit, expressed gratitude for the previous EAEU leaders’ decision to grant the Islamic Republic of Iran observer status, which allows for broader and more effective participation in the Union’s economic activities. He emphasized that Iran always strives to be an effective and reliable member and partner in regional economic relations. The implementation of the Iran-EAEU Free Trade Agreement is an important step toward deepening economic ties in the region, offering exceptional opportunities for the national economies and traders of the contracting countries.
The president also commented on the aggression by the Zionist regime against Iran, stating that the international community—especially the UN Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency—must act more responsibly toward the aggressors and warmongers. It has now become clearer than ever that the policy of appeasement towards the Zionist regime regarding its systematic and repeated human rights violations must be abandoned.

In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Mr. Lukashenko, Honorable President of Belarus,
First, I wish to thank you, your government, and the dear people of Belarus for hosting the Eurasian Economic Union summit.
I also thank Mr. Sagintayev and his colleagues at the Eurasian Economic Commission for preparing the arrangements for this meeting. I regret that due to ongoing developments, I am unable to attend this important summit in person.
Esteemed colleagues,
As you know, the Zionist regime launched a ruthless and illegal armed terrorist attack against the Islamic Republic of Iran starting June 13.
This aggression occurred amid indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States regarding Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, during which Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities were attacked.
The military assaults by the U.S. and Zionist regime on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities—which are under full supervision by the International Atomic Energy Agency—constitute a blatant violation of all international laws and deal an irreparable blow to the non-proliferation regime by a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
The Israeli attacks included a series of illegal and criminal operations against military forces outside their duty stations, university professors, and ordinary citizens. Numerous civilians were martyred and injured in these attacks on residential areas, public infrastructure, hospitals, and medical centers.
Dear colleagues,
During this 12-day imposed war, Iran’s armed forces exercised their right to legitimate self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter to protect the noble people and the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Had the Zionist regime’s aggression gone unanswered, it could have escalated into a widespread and uncontrollable regional war.
The international community—especially the UN Security Council and the IAEA—must adopt a more responsible stance toward the aggressors and warmongers.
Now, more than ever, it is clear that the policy of appeasement towards the Zionist regime’s systematic and repeated human rights violations must be ended.
I take this opportunity to thank all countries that have responsibly condemned these blatant aggressions. Today’s EAEU summit is also a valuable opportunity to voice the collective position of the members in firmly condemning these aggressions and the resulting regional and global threats.
Honorable attendees,
The Islamic Republic of Iran always strives to be an effective and reliable member and partner in regional economic relations. The implementation of the Iran-EAEU Free Trade Agreement is a significant step toward deepening economic relations in the region. This agreement provides unparalleled opportunities for the national economies and traders of the contracting countries.
I appreciate the previous EAEU summit’s decision to grant observer status to Iran, enabling us to participate more extensively and effectively in the Union’s economic activities.
In transit, we focus on developing and modernizing existing rail and road corridors, strengthening air transport, creating joint special zones, and utilizing Iran’s port transit capacities to connect EAEU member countries to global markets.
In energy, cooperation between producers and consumers and utilizing existing capacities to link regional energy networks is a priority.
In new technologies, creating infrastructure to enhance collaboration in digital technologies, facilitating information exchange and modern trade, regulating artificial intelligence, and jointly combating unilateralism in this field will increase our national and collective capabilities.
Undoubtedly, fully exploiting the benefits of the Free Trade Agreement will be difficult without developing independent, sanction-resistant banking infrastructure. Within this framework, financing joint infrastructure and industrial projects through the Eurasian Development Bank, expanding the financial circulation system to interested observer countries, and using national currencies for settlements could be prioritized.
Dear colleagues,
I am confident that we can present a successful model of regional integration and turn this historic opportunity into a turning point for shared growth. The future belongs to nations that pave the way for progress through cooperation and mutual trust.
In conclusion, I wish success for this important summit and welfare, comfort, prosperity, and bright horizons for the governments and peoples of the Eurasian Economic Union member states.
Thank you for your attention.
