SAEDNEWS: If you’re in Kerman, Iran, don’t miss the chance to visit Fath Abad Garden. Just a few years ago, this place was mostly a ruin, but now it has been beautifully restored and is one of the most popular tourist spots in the area.
According to SAEDNEWS, It’s not just a pretty garden; it is also one of the largest gardens for medical plants in Iran. Let’s dive into what makes this garden so special!
Fath Abad Garden spans over 13 hectares and features a stunning mansion right in the center. The mansion combines Persian and European architectural styles, making it a unique sight. One of the best times to visit is at night when the lights reflect beautifully in the pool, creating a magical atmosphere.
Inside Fath Abad Mansion, you’ll find the painting room, which is truly breathtaking. The walls are covered with valuable paintings that showcase amazing artistry. You will also notice beautiful stucco decorations, including a special piece at one of the entrances that features stunning calligraphy that says "In the Name of God," along with a quote from the Holy Quran.
Fath Abad Garden is home to an ancient berry tree that has been there for many years. When the mansion was built, the architects decided not to cut down this charming tree. Instead, they incorporated it into the design, which shows a beautiful respect for nature.
The garden was built during the time of Mohammad Shah from the Qajar dynasty. It was also known as Biglar Beigi, named after its owner, who was the governor of Kerman. The garden took five years to complete and was used for relaxation and enjoyment. The rows of plane trees and colorful flower beds made it a wonderful place, but the owner turned down many offers to buy it.
However, things changed when the underground water system, known as Ghanat (Kariz), began to dry up. This caused the once-vibrant garden to decline, and it fell into ruin over time.
Nearly a century later, restoration efforts started again. Skilled artisans painted the beautiful artwork once more, and the addition of medical plants brought the garden back to life.
To reach Fath Abad Garden, head northwest of Kerman. You can take Jomhuri Boulevard and then Havaniroz Boulevard, or go via Zangi Abad Road. Other attractions nearby include Ganjali Khan Complex, Kerman Vakil Bath, and Kerman Bazaar, all within 21 kilometers of the garden.
