According to Saed News' tourism service, if you are among the busy residents of Tehran, you may often find yourself yearning for a relaxing trip, but not having enough time for travel. However, if you know that nearby sightseeing spots around Tehran, just a short distance away from this bustling city, can welcome you, you won't have to worry about a lack of time or long distances. You can escape the noise of the city and retreat into nature with a relatively short journey.

  1. Lar Plain or Poppy Plain; Damavand

    Lar Plain, or the Poppy Plain of Damavand, is one of the most beautiful and untouched natural areas in Iran, located at the foot of the Damavand Peak. This plain, with its scenic views, flowing rivers, and lush nature, is a perfect destination for nature lovers and adventurers. Lar Plain is famous not only for its poppy flowers in spring but also for its cool weather and breathtaking views in summer, which captivate every traveler.

If you love camping and staying in nature, Lar Plain is an excellent choice for you. Here, you can set up a tent under the starry sky and enjoy the incredible tranquility. However, since it is a protected area, please respect the environment and carry your waste back with you.

Getting to Lar Plain by car There are several routes to reach Lar National Park, each offering its unique beauty.

  • Route 1: This path starts from the city of Polur and follows the Abali road, leading to the entrance of the environmental protection post on the eastern side of the plain. The entire route is paved and easy, making it a convenient way to travel.

  • Route 2: This route begins from Tehran and the large Lavasan area. After passing Lavasan and continuing past Bargh Jahān and Niknam Deh, you will reach the beautiful village of Ira, and from there, head towards the Quoshkhaneh Environmental Post in the southern part of the plain.

  • Route 3: Starting from the village of Garmabdar near Fasham, this route is typically chosen by the local nomads and residents, leading to the western entrance of the park. To pass through this route, you must obtain a permit from the Garmabdar hunting lodge.

  1. Carrot Plain; Lavasan

    Carrot Plain, located in the foothills of nature near Tehran, has captured the attention of visitors from the city and beyond. This plain is rich with greenery and flowers, and a path full of wild plants. There's also a waterfall near the plain, further adding to its allure. In addition, you can visit the Safavid Bathhouse and Dr. Vaziri Museum Cave, which offer a unique experience for tourists.

    Access to Carrot Plain The distance from Tehran to Carrot Plain is approximately 45 to 50 kilometers, and depending on your route (via Lavasan or Oshān road), it takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. The main route starts from Niavaran Square, passing through Lavasan, then to Afjeh, and continuing on an unpaved road to the plain. This route is especially crowded in spring and summer, so it's best to start early in the morning to avoid traffic.

  2. Azu Plain; Larijan

    Azu Plain, located in the province of Mazandaran, near the village of Nova, offers a stunning view of the Alborz mountain range. Known as one of the top tourist destinations in the Aml district, it's about 85 kilometers from Aml and 120 kilometers from Tehran. A one-hour walk from the village of Nova will take you to this beautiful plain, where the scenery is unforgettable.

Access to Azu Plain To reach Azu Plain, you must pass through the Haraz Road, the only route that connects to Nova Village. The address of Azu Plain is Mazandaran Province, Haraz Road towards Aml, the exit to Kandla and Nova, 2 kilometers from Nova Village.

  1. Kandar Tulip Plain; Karaj

    Located in the heart of the Alborz mountain range, the Kandar Tulip Plain in Karaj blooms like a vibrant, dreamy painting every spring. The plain is covered with red, orange, yellow, and purple tulips, offering an exceptional view of nature's artistry. It is a serene space, ideal for relaxation, nature walks, and escaping from the noise of the city.

Access to Kandar Plain Kandar is located 22 kilometers northeast of Karaj, and is about 7 kilometers from the Karaj-Chalus road. There are two routes to reach the village, either through the old road or the Karaj-Chalus road.

  1. Namarstaq Plain; Larijan

    Known as a dreamy and beautiful land, Namarstaq Plain is one of those places in Iran that feels like a fairytale, filled with natural beauty. To reach Namarstaq, head towards the Haraz Road from Tehran, passing Bumehen, Polur, and Rineh. When you reach a junction around 40 kilometers before Aml, follow the signs to Namarstaq and continue to the Namar village.
