The former Barcelona and Spanish national team star also firmly denied allegations that he had received commissions from the Spanish Football Federation for this deal, claiming that such an event had never occurred on his part.

In his defense, which was read at the court hearing for this case, Piqué stated that he had always acted as a representative of Saudi Arabia and not the Spanish Football Federation. Therefore, he argued that he had not committed any illegal or wrongful actions in this matter.

Not only did Gerard Piqué defend his innocence, but he also expressed regret over the irreparable damage done to his reputation. The pressure on him was so intense that he could not hold back his tears, emphasizing that no one could endure the harm inflicted on him.

The former Barcelona player also asserted without hesitation that someone who raised such a significant amount of money for the Spanish Football Federation would be honored in any other country. However, in Spain, legal action has been taken against him, which he believes is unfair.
