Shelby Counterman, a 9-year-old American girl, is unlike most girls or women who are terrified of these creepy, repulsive insects. She has an indescribable affection for them and spends most of her free time in their company.
Her unusual friendship began at the age of five, when she brought a cockroach into her room to fill the loneliness as a companion. Four years later, Shelby now keeps an uncountable number of these insects in her room.
