SAEDNEWS: In a strategic media move, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian delivered a carefully crafted message to Donald Trump’s conservative base through an interview with Tucker Carlson, aiming to reframe Iran’s stance toward the U.S. and isolate Israel as the real instigator of war.

Pezeshkian’s Outreach to MAGA America: Iran’s President Courts Trump’s Base in Tucker Carlson Interview

According to Saed News, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s recent half-hour interview with American media figure Tucker Carlson has sparked a wave of political commentary across both Iranian and international circles. The interview, which aired on Carlson’s independent network—widely followed by Donald Trump supporters and the far-right MAGA movement—was seen as an attempt to reach a notoriously difficult audience with a nuanced message of de-escalation and strategic recalibration.

American affairs analyst Amir Ali Abolfath, in an exclusive interview with Saed News, described Carlson as “the single most influential media figure among U.S. conservatives.” Formerly of Fox News, Carlson now commands a vast independent viewership, having interviewed figures such as Vladimir Putin to viral effect. For Pezeshkian, said Abolfath, “this was no ordinary media engagement—it was a message directly aimed at Trump’s base.”

Abolfath noted that Pezeshkian’s message was deliberately tiered: first, to frame Iran as a peace-seeking nation; second, to avoid personal attacks on Trump, who is viewed by many MAGA followers not just as a leader but a near-divine figure; and third, to draw a sharp line between American interests and Israeli provocations, especially the military adventurism of Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Crucially, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran poses no threat to Trump’s life or to Americans generally, and welcomed U.S. investment under the supervision of Iranian leadership. The slogan “Death to America,” he explained, is not a literal call to arms but a political expression against U.S. policies—an attempt to demystify and reframe the phrase for a Western audience often led to believe otherwise.

Yet Abolfath remained realistic about the odds of success. “Do I believe it will change Trump’s mind or sway his followers? No,” he said bluntly. “But that doesn’t mean the effort was meaningless.” Drawing an analogy with prophetic missions, Abolfath emphasized the moral necessity of making the case, even when outcomes are uncertain.

He also pointed out that similar messaging has emerged from within the American right itself, including Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who recently argued that the war with Iran is not America’s war but Netanyahu’s. In this context, Pezeshkian’s arguments echoed a growing sentiment that U.S. policy is being manipulated to serve Israeli—not American—interests.

While few expect Pezeshkian’s interview to shift the ideological landscape of MAGA America, analysts view it as a calibrated and thoughtful effort to pierce the media wall surrounding U.S.-Iran relations. “Iran is not at war with the American people,” Abolfath concluded, “and if anyone can hear that message in Trump’s America, it’s through Tucker Carlson.”
