SAEDNEWS: While a Letter Requesting 50 Billion Tomans for a Trip to Brazil from the Head of the Environmental Protection Organization and the Vice President Was Released Today, the Organization Stated That the Budget Office Responds to Requests According to the Law and Does Not Automatically Approve Every Request.
According to the political section of Saed News, a letter circulated online today claiming that the Vice President and Head of the Environmental Protection Organization requested 50 billion tomans to attend the Brazil Climate Summit.
In response, Amirhossein Sabeti, a member of parliament, addressed the matter in a parliamentary session, questioning Shina Ansari, Vice President and Head of the Environmental Protection Organization: “Why are you requesting 50 billion tomans for a trip to Brazil and a summit that may not even be essential? Are you planning to buy Brazil?”
Fars News Agency contacted the Planning and Budget Organization to verify the matter. The organization stated that anyone can submit budget requests, as frequently happens during provincial trips. However, it emphasized that responding to all requests would exceed the current budget tenfold. The organization confirmed that all payments are made according to legal regulations.
Regarding foreign trips, the organization clarified that budgets are categorized: only trips pre-approved and deemed necessary have specific budget allocations. Daily allowances are assigned according to position: the President receives one amount, the Vice President another, and ministers, officials, and experts receive fixed amounts for travel or mission expenses.
For Ansari’s potential trip, the Planning and Budget Organization estimated a maximum of $10,000 would cover airfare, hotel, destinations, and accompanying personnel, all calculated according to legal rules and tables. The organization reiterated that not all requests are fully approved and all payments follow legal regulations. Any payment outside these rules is subject to review by the Supreme Audit Court and the Inspection Organization.
In conclusion, all payments, especially for foreign trips, are strictly regulated according to law and official payment tables.
