SAEDNEWS: The U.S. Air Force has stepped in to tamper with and make extensive alterations to the expensive gift Qatar presented to Trump.
According to Russia Today, the U.S. Air Force has started modifying a Boeing 747 that was gifted to former President Donald Trump by Qatar—a high-value present intended for official use. The aircraft is set to be used for transporting U.S. officials.
A U.S. Air Force spokesperson stated that the nature of the modifications, the company carrying them out, and the timeline are all classified. Any aircraft received from foreign countries, including allies, must be transformed into a secure transport for American officials.
CNN reported that the process is not just minor repairs or alterations; it resembles a complete overhaul of the Qatar-provided plane. The operation is expected to take anywhere from several months up to two years.
Earlier this year, in May, it was reported that the Trump administration planned to accept a luxury Boeing 747-8, gifted by Qatar’s royal family, and equip it as a special presidential aircraft (Air Force One).
Following the end of Trump’s presidency, this aircraft—one of the most valuable gifts in U.S. history—is set to be donated to the Trump Presidential Library.
