Prayer is one of the most important obligations in Islam, and great emphasis is placed on it. Those who neglect it are promised punishment. Prayer is essential and mandatory in religion, and neglecting it is considered a major sin. Its importance is such that the acceptance of all of a person's deeds is dependent on the acceptance of their prayer. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said: “The first thing a person’s deeds will be examined for on the Day of Judgment is their prayer. If it is accepted, other deeds will be looked at, and if it is not accepted, nothing will be considered.”
