Saed News: Axios news outlet reported that the White House has decided to hold a meeting between Iraqchi and Witkoff.
Saed News reported, quoting Fararu, that the American news outlet Axios, citing informed sources, revealed the White House's efforts to hold a meeting between Steve Witkoff, the U.S. Middle East envoy, and Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister.
Axios, quoting four informed sources, stated: "The White House is in talks with Iran about the possibility of holding a meeting this week between Steve Witkoff, the U.S. envoy, and Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister."
According to the report, the goal of this meeting is to discuss a diplomatic initiative including reaching a nuclear agreement and ending the war between Israel and Iran.
Axios wrote that the meeting is not yet finalized but is part of Donald Trump’s latest efforts to avoid war and return to the path of achieving an agreement. A U.S. official confirmed that holding a meeting with the Iranians is under consideration.
The report also noted that this meeting could be a decisive moment in answering whether the U.S. will enter a war with Iran to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program or not.
According to a senior U.S. official, Trump believes that the massive bunker-buster bombs needed to destroy underground enrichment facilities in Fordow—bombs that the U.S. possesses but Israel does not—serve as a key leverage to push Iran toward an agreement.
