A 500-year-old prosthetic hand has been discovered in southern Germany, a rare find that offers fascinating insights into the history of medicine.
Such artifacts are extremely uncommon. In Central Europe, only about 50 prosthetic hands from the same period have been recovered so far. Archaeologist Amir Adileh explained, “This is particularly remarkable because items like this are so rare, especially one that is over 500 years old. These prosthetics provide exciting information about the development of medical practices in history.”
