SAEDNEWS: Syria’s Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani on Friday raised the Syrian flag over the embassy in Washington, the first time it has flown there since the diplomatic mission was suspended in 2012.
In a symbolic moment hailed as “historic,” the Syrian Foreign Ministry announced that Syria has reasserted its presence at its embassy in the U.S. capital.
The statement highlighted that Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shibani personally raised the flag of the Syrian Arab Republic over the embassy building in Washington, marking the country’s renewed diplomatic footprint in the United States.
