SAEDNEWS: The US has confirmed that it has held confidential discussions with Ukraine regarding prospects of increasing the depth of strikes by US-made weapons against Russia.
According to SAEDNEWS, The United States has confirmed ongoing confidential discussions with Ukraine focused on the potential expansion of strikes using US-made weapons against Russian targets.
John Kirby, the National Security Communications Advisor, stated during an online briefing that these talks aim to explore increasing the effectiveness and reach of Ukrainian military operations. However, Kirby emphasized that the details of these discussions would remain private, highlighting the sensitive nature of the subject.
"This is not a new desire by President Zelensky," Kirby noted, referring to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's ongoing concerns regarding the situation in his country, which continues to face attacks. "He's made his concerns known to us privately, and he certainly has made his concerns known to everybody publicly. We understand why he's doing that; his country's under attack."
Kirby reiterated the US's commitment to maintain ongoing communications with Ukraine while clarifying that there would be no immediate changes to US policies concerning weapons delivery to Ukraine, nor new guidelines to share at this time. The approach highlights the US's strategic support for Ukraine in its conflict with Russia while managing the sensitivities involved in such military discussions.
