SAEDNEWS: The Western governments’ unreserved support for the Israeli regime’s atrocities against Palestinians has rather backfired by bolstering the regional resistance in the face of the occupying entity, says a scholar.
According to SAEDNEWS, A scholar has stated that the unwavering support from Western governments for the Israeli regime's actions against Palestinians has backfired, leading to a stronger regional resistance.
Amal Saad, a Lebanese politics lecturer at Cardiff University, shared her views on the X social media platform on Wednesday, emphasizing that this support has not helped Israel but instead strengthened resistance efforts across the Middle East.
"Far from protecting Israel or ensuring its longevity, their (the Western governments’) unqualified support has instead ushered in a new, formidable resistance paradigm across the Middle East," she noted.
Saad explained that the aggression supported by Western nations has contributed to the growth of the Resistance Axis, enhancing military capabilities and regional influence among its members.
The support has included significant political, military, and intelligence backing for Israel’s recent military actions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. Resistance movements like Hamas and Islamic Jihad are actively confronting the Israeli aggression, while support from groups in Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen has increased, with many conducting operations against Israeli targets.
Saad concluded that this Western support has altered the regional balance of power and may jeopardize Israel's long-term sustainability as a settler-colonial entity.
