SAEDNEWS: The Iranain Minister of Roads and Urban Development said as many as five million pilgrims traveled to Mashhad in the last ten days of Month of Safar for Imam Reza martyrdom anniversary.
According to SAEDNEWS The Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development reported that around five million pilgrims traveled to Mashhad over the last ten days of the Month of Safar to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza.
This year, the anniversary is observed on the 30th of Safar in the Islamic Hijri calendar, a significant day for Iranians and other Muslims who honor Imam Reza's memory.
Minister Farzaneh Sadegh, during her visit to Mashhad on Wednesday, stated, "Five million pilgrims traveled to Mashhad in the last 10 days of Safar this year."
She noted that 80% of these pilgrims arrived in Mashhad by car, while the remaining 20% traveled by other means, including planes, trains, and on foot.
Sadegh also assured that preparations have been made to ensure the safe and timely departure of travelers leaving the city after their pilgrimage.
