Ingredients:

  • Flour: 1.5 cups

  • Eggs: 2

  • Sugar: 1 scant cup

  • Warm Milk: ⅔ cup

  • Vegetable Oil: ½ cup

  • Cocoa Powder: 3 tablespoons

  • Baking Powder: 1 teaspoon

  • Vanilla Extract: ½ teaspoon

How to Make Chocolate Cake

Step 1: Preheating the Oven for Baking the Chocolate Cake

To prepare the chocolate cake, start by preheating the oven to 170°C. If you're using an electric oven like a microwave or toaster oven, set the temperature to 150°C to ensure proper heating.

Step 2: Prepare the Cake Pan and Sift the Dry Ingredients

Line your chosen cake pan with parchment paper or coat it with a non-stick baking spray. Next, set aside 3 tablespoons of flour, then add cocoa powder and baking powder to the remaining flour. Mix the dry ingredients thoroughly and sift them three times to ensure even distribution.

Step 3: Beat Eggs, Sugar, and Vanilla

Place the eggs, sugar, and vanilla in a suitable bowl. Using a mixer at high speed, whisk the mixture for 5 minutes until it becomes thick and creamy. Then, add the milk to the mixture.

Step 4: Incorporate Milk and Oil into the Egg Mixture

Switch the mixer to medium speed and blend the milk into the mixture for 30 seconds. Add the oil and mix for another 10 seconds. Gradually add the flour mixture in three parts, folding it in gently to avoid lumps.

Step 5: Gently Mixing the Flour with the Cake Batter to Retain the Egg Fluffiness

Use a spatula to gently fold the flour into the mixture, ensuring the fluffiness of the eggs is preserved. Stir the batter slowly in one direction until it becomes smooth and uniform. If the batter seems too runny, sift in 1 tablespoon of flour.

Step 6: Pouring the Batter into the Mold and Preparing for Baking

Pour the batter into the prepared mold, then tap it gently on the counter a few times to release any trapped air bubbles. Place the mold into the preheated oven and bake until the cake is fully cooked.

Step 7: Checking the Cake’s Doneness with a Toothpick and Cooling

After 40 minutes, test the cake's doneness by inserting a toothpick. If it comes out clean, remove the cake from the oven. Let it cool slightly before removing it from the mold and transferring it to your serving dish.

Step 8: Decorating the Cake with Melted Chocolate

If you wish to decorate the cake with chocolate, place 200 grams of chocolate chunks and 1 tablespoon of oil in a bowl. Melt them using the double-boiler method over simmering water, then pour the melted chocolate evenly over the cake.
